Abstract:
A ground fault detection device detects ground faults within a solar array of a solar energy generator system comprising: solar cell strings configured with a plurality of serially connected solar cell modules; the solar cell array, which is configured with the plurality of solar cell strings connected in parallel; and a load device which either consumes or converts electricity. The ground fault detection device comprises: a switching unit which disconnects either the solar cell array or the solar cell strings by electrically cutting same off from the solar energy generator system; and a detection unit which detects a ground fault of either the solar cell array or the solar cell strings when either the solar cell array or the solar cell strings is in the state of being disconnected by the switching unit.
