Abstract:
A novel method is provided which, without having to install train detecting means on the ground, makes it possible to manage train presence by means of radio communication. A ground-side device system 30 performs polling communication with a ground-side device 50 as a primary station and a train 2 as a secondary station. The ground-side device 50 stores a list (a train list) of the train IDs of trains being managed, and, by means of polling communication with each train 2 included in the train list, train information including the train position information is acquired from the trains 2, and the train position of each train 2 included in the train list is determined. Further, an entrance allowable range of each train 2 is calculated to generate travel control information for the trains 2, and this is transmitted to each train 2 by means of polling communication. Further, through handover control for handing a train 2 being managed over to a neighboring ground-side device 50, the train list is updated by adding train IDs of trains entering the radio communication control region 70 of the ground-side device 50 and removing the train IDs of trains exiting said region.
