Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel guaiacoxypropanolamine derivatives of formula (I): wherein R is CH¿2?CH=CH¿2?, CH=CHCOOC¿2?H¿5?, CH=CHCH¿3?, CH¿2?NHCO(CH¿2?)¿7?CH¿3?; R¿3? is OH, OCH¿3?, NHCH¿2?CH¿3?OCH¿3?, CHR¿6?; R¿4? is OCH¿3?, OC¿2?H¿5?, CHR¿6?; R¿6? is C¿1?-C¿6? saturated alkyl, C¿1?-C¿6? unsaturated alkyl; R¿2? is (II), (III), (IV), (V), (VI), (VII), (VIII), (IX), (X), (XI). The said compounds of formula (I) have $g(a)/$g(b)-adrenergic blocking activity. The invention further relates to pharmaceutical composition comprising compound of formula (I) and pharmaceutical acceptable vehicle. The composition also has $g(a)/$g(b)-adrenergic blocking activity, and is useful in the treatment of acute hypertension.
