Abstract:
A guide device for a fuel filler nozzle, affixed to the inside of a fuel filling opening-side tube section (31) and guiding a fuel filler nozzle (5) when inserting the fuel filler nozzle (5) from the tube section (31) into a filler pipe. The guide device for a fuel filler nozzle is characterized in that the guide device comprises: a guide body (1) having a tube-shaped section (13) which is disposed deep inside the tube section (31) and also having a substantially funnel-shaped introduction section (10) which is provided to the inlet-side end section of the tube-shaped section and which can center the fuel filler nozzle (5); and a grommet (2) configured so that the grommet (2) can be switched to a final retention position from a temporary retention position at which the grommet (2) is positioned at the tube-shaped section (13) while being engaged with the outer periphery of the tube-shaped section (13), so that, by inserting the guide body (1) into the tube section (31) with the grommet (2) disposed at the temporary retention position, the grommet (2) is engaged with a protrusion (35) provided on the inner peripheral surface of the tube-shaped section, and so that, by further inserting the guide body (1) into the tube section, the grommet (2) is switched to the final retention position while being engaged with the protrusion and becomes impossible to be extracted. The guide device for a fuel filler nozzle can be mounted into the fuel filling opening-side tube section with improved work efficiency and is not accidentally disengaged even if subjected to excessive impact.
