Abstract:
Provided is a guide-and-guard apparatus used at the outlet of a diameter-measuring instrument. The guide-and-guard apparatus comprises a guiding conduit (10) through which wire material passes, and an air current guidance mechanism, provided near the material outlet of the guiding conduit (10), for guiding the air current and the material to advance in the same direction. By means of the guidance provided by the air current guidance mechanism, the air currents in the guiding conduit (10) cavity all advance together with the material, or the wire rod, and can easily be discharged from the guiding conduit (10) cavity. In this way, high-temperature foreign matter and iron shavings are prevented from falling onto the guiding conduit (10) wall whereon they can form residue and increase frictional force, as well as affect the dimensions of the guiding conduit (10). Once the guiding conduit (10) and the entire guide-and-guard apparatus are mounted, the instrument can be used for an extended period, reducing the number of repairs or adjustments, and thereby allowing for a long service life and reduced maintenance costs.
