Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a guide wire in which unintended deviation in guide wire position can be reduced while suppressing the occurrence of discomfort with respect to usability. [Solution] This guide wire 10 has a flexible core wire 20, and comprises: a tip core part 34; a main body part 30; and a rigidity changing part 35 that gradually decreases in rigidity from the main body part 30 toward to the tip core part 34. The rigidity changing part comprises: a first taper portion 31 that is continuous with a tip of the main body part; a second taper portion 32 that is continuous with a tip of the first taper portion; and a third taper portion 33 that is continuous with a base end of the tip core part. Also, a boundary portion 36 between the first taper portion and the second taper portion is positioned in the range of 300-400 mm from the foremost end of the tip core part, and the gradient of the change in the diameter d1 of the first taper portion ((d12-d11)/L1) is greater than the gradient of the change in the diameter d2 of the second taper portion ((d22-d21)/L2).
