Abstract:
This method, for calibrating a gyro sensor mounted to a vehicle (5) in order to measure an angular velocity generated in a rotational direction about a vertical axis, involves implementing: a lateral displacement detection process for detecting the amount of lateral displacement of the vehicle (5) with respect to magnetic markers (10U·D) embedded in a road; an azimuth estimation process which, when the vehicle (5) passes a location where two magnetic markers (10U·D) are embedded, estimates an azimuth of the vehicle (5) through an arithmetic process using, as an input value, the lateral displacement amount with respect to the two magnetic markers (10U·D); and a calibration process which calibrates the gyro sensor using the azimuth of the vehicle (5) estimated in the azimuth estimation process.
