The present invention provides a comb and a combing method with which it is possible to: remove, inter alia, oil-based hairdressing products and waste products such as sebum and dandruff that have adhered to the hair and scalp, the removal being performed without using shampoo, chemicals, heat, etc., and without damaging the hair or scalp; restore hair so as to impart gloss and body; and form voluminous and silky hair.　The present invention provides: a comb integrally comprising a trunk, teeth, a shoulder, a comb point, a comb body, a grip, and a thumb hole; a comb in which the aforementioned comb and a comb operation auxiliary body are pivotably joined so as to be capable of pivoting about the center of the comb body, the comb operation auxiliary body comprising a moving grip, a ring-finger hole, and a pinky-finger catch, wherein the comb is characterized in that the surface shape of the surfaces of at least the shoulder, the teeth, the trunk, the comb point, and the comb body is formed from stainless steel having an arithmetic mean roughness of 0.100 μm or less according to surface roughness measurement; and a combing method in which the upper surfaces of these combs are oriented upward and the backs thereof are freely moved in parallel in a reciprocating manner along the scalp either in contact or not in contact with the scalp.
