Abstract:
A half bearing is provided which has excellent wear resistance and on which an oil film is securely formed under boundary lubrication conditions in which the formation of an oil film is usually difficult. A half bearing (1) which is formed in an arc shape along the swinging direction of a sliding object is provided with a porous layer (4) that is formed on the surface of a metal base material (3) using a Cu-Sn-based alloy, and a sliding layer (2) that covers a porous layer (4) with a resin material (5) containing at least polytetrafluoroethylene and carbon fibers. On the surface of the sliding layer (2) which supports the sliding object in a slidable fashion, an uneven surface (6) is formed that forms an oil film by holding the oil and has the height to hold the oil and form the oil layer so as to counter against wear from the sliding action of a sliding object.
