Abstract:
Disclosed are: a blue (blue green) phosphor which has sufficient luminous intensity in a wavelength range around 490 nm, while having high luminance in a temperature range that is reached during the operation of an LED; and a white light emitting device which uses a high luminance green phosphor having an emission peak wavelength of not less than 535 nm, and which has improved reproducibility of a bright blue color.
Specifically disclosed is a phosphor which is characterized by having a chemical composition represented by general formula (1). The phosphor has sufficient luminous intensity in a wavelength range around 490 nm, and a white light emitting device which uses the phosphor has improved reproducibility of a bright blue color.
