Abstract:
A hand drier (1) having a casing in which is formed a hand insertion part (3) and a front wall nozzle (5a) and a rear wall nozzle (5b) communicating with the hand insertion part (3), a high-pressure airflow generation device (4) installed in the casing, first and second hand detection sensors (6, 7) for detecting that the hand of a user has been inserted into the hand insertion part (3), a controller (31) for driving the high-pressure airflow generation device (4) and causing an airflow to be ejected from the front and rear wall nozzles (5a, 5b) when the first or second hand detection sensor (6, 7) senses the hand of a user, and a waste water tank (18) for recovering water droplets blown off the hand of the user and scattered in the hand insertion part (3); wherein the hand drier has a electroconductive drain plate (21) disposed so as to face the upper surface of the waste water tank (18) and a control circuit (31a) for detecting the water level in the waste water tank (18) on the basis of the capacitance generated in the drain electroconductive plate.
