Abstract:
A hand dryer (1) is provided with: a body case (2) mounted on a wall surface (20); an electric blower (3) for delivering high-pressure air (13) into the body case (2); a nozzle section (4) provided below the electric blower (3) and ejecting high-pressure air (13); a hand detection section (8) for activating the electric blower (3) upon detecting a hand (15) inserted below the nozzle section (4); and an operating section (9) including an effectiveness/ineffectiveness changeover switch for switching between an effective state in which the electric blower (3) becomes activated when the hand (15) is inserted into the detection zone of the hand detection section (8), and an ineffective state in which the electric blower (3) does not become activated even if the hand (15) is inserted into the detection zone. The body case (2) has a nozzle holding surface (7) which faces downward when the body case (2) is mounted on the wall surface (20) and which holds the nozzle section (4) and the operating section (9). The effectiveness/ineffectiveness changeover switch is provided on the front surface (21) side of the body case (2) with respect to the optical axis center (6) of the hand detection section (8) on the nozzle holding surface (7).
