Abstract:
Disclosed is a hand drying device comprising: a drying chamber with an opening, a first internal wall surface, and a second internal wall surface that faces the first internal wall surface; a nozzle disposed in the first internal wall surface and that blows out an airflow towards the second internal wall surface; a supply unit that supplies the airflow to the nozzle; a hand detection sensor that detects the insertion of a hand into the drying chamber; a control unit that operates the supply unit when a the insertion of a hand has been detected by the hand detection sensor and stops the supply unit when the insertion of a hand is not detected by the hand detection sensor; and a radiation unit disposed at a position on the first internal wall surface side along the first internal wall surface and out of alignment with the nozzle and which radiates light towards the second internal wall surface. The central axis of the nozzle and the optical axis of the radiation unit cross at an appropriate position where a hand would be inserted inside the drying chamber.
