This assistance implement is provided with a body part attached to the back of a user, an arm part 2 that is extended forward from the body part, and a raising/lowering device that is provided to the body part and winds wires 18, 19 in and out. The assistance implement is also provided with a support member 16 supported by the arm part 2 such that the orientation thereof can be changed freely about an extension axis P2 that runs along the extension direction of the arm part 2, a securing part 34 that freely secures and releases the support part 16 to and from the arm part 2 at a prescribed position about the extension axis P2, and a rotating body 15 supported by the support member 16 so as to freely rotate about a lateral axis P3 orthogonal to the extension axis P2. The wires 18, 19 that are extended from the raising/lowering device are wound about the rotating body 15 and extended downward, and a hand part that holds baggage is connected to the extension ends of the wires 18, 19.
