FIGS. la and lb are views showing the fundamental parts of the multi- purpose handbag according to the present invention, wherein the handbag includes a base plate 2, an item-carrying case 4, a binder 6 and a loop 8.

The base plate 2 has a front part 10, a rear part 12 and a lateral partl4 that are folded in the shape of The base plate 2 having such the shape may be configured in two forms as described below: First, as shown in FIG. le, the boundaries between the front part 10 and the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2 and between the rear part 12 and the lateral part 14 are folded in the inside of the handbag; and second, as shown in FIG. lc, the boundaries between the front part 10 and the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2 and between the rear part 12 and the lateral part 14 are appropriately kept at a right angle, and the central portion X of the lateral part 14 is folded downward when viewed in the drawing. The base plate 2 is provided with the attachment parts R and Q that are adapted for attaching the case, a binder, and a loop that are removably attached on the interior surfaces of the front part 10, the rear part 12 and the lateral part 14 thereof (see FIG. 3a).

The item-carrying case 4 includes a case body 20 into which a relatively

small-sized items therein and a cover 22 coupled rotatably to the periphery of the one side of the case body 20, for opening and closing an opening of the case body 20. The part for opening and closing the case body 20 with the cover 22 includes an attaching loop 23 or a zipper. This could be achieved with other means if they open and close the case 4. Mirrors G and G'can be attached on the cover 22, if necessary (see FIGS. 2c and 6a). FIG. lc shows the examples of the item-carrying case 4 having different shapes, but the present invention is not limited to such the sole embodiment as FIG. 1 c.

The groove on the side face of the item-carrying case 4 is the case groove R'that corresponds with the guide rail R of the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2 on which the binder 6 is located, with which the item-carrying case 4 can be detachably mounted to the binder 6, and the grooves on the upper and lower portions of the bottom face of the item-carrying case 4 are the rail groove R"that is adapted to couple the case 4 with the base plate 2 (see FIGS. I c and 4a). The example where another case 84 is mounted on the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2, into which the binder 6 should have been disposed, is shown in FIG. 2d.

The item-carrying case 4 is formed in such a manner that it is disposed on the inner surface of the rear part 12 of the base plate 2. having the width corresponding to the one side wall from the periphery of the one side of the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2 (see FIG. lb). Thereby, the base plate 2 can be well folded in the shape of the and when it is folded in such a way, the leaves 16 and the pouch T that are filed in the binder 6 come in contact with the inner surfaces of the case 4 and the front part 10 at the both sides. As shown in FIG.

2a, if the sizes and the attached positions of the case and the binder are adjusted, the case 4 is located not to be separated from the outer edge of the one side of the

lateral part 14 of the base plate 2, and thus, if the base plate 2 is folded in the shape of the leaves 16 and the pouch T that are filed in the binder 6 come in contact with the inner surfaces of the front part 10 and the rear part 12 of the base plate 2 at the both sides thereof, such that the width of the lateral part 14 can be reduced. That is, as shown in FIGS. lb and 2a, the case 4, the binder 6, the loose rings, and the loop are housed therein, but according to their sizes and attached positions, the width of the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2 can be differently determined when the base plate 2 is folded in the shape of iD'. Also, the case4, the binder 6, the loose rings, and the loop are all independently mounted detachably on the inside of the handbag by means of appropriate attachment means. In addition to the case 4, of course, the multi-purpose handbag of the present invention is provided with a plurality of item-carrying cases 7,74, 74'and 74" (see FIG. 2d).

The base plate 2 is also provided with two or more cases that are detachably mounted on the one side, or with one or more cases on each of the front part, the rear part and the side. Still more, another case 84 may be mounted on the inner surface of the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2 in which the binder 6 is mounted. This is carried out by forming the case groove R' corresponding to the guide rail R disposed on the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2, on the side portion of the case 84 (see FIG. 2d). Of course, the method for mounting the case 84 is not limited to the sole embodiment described above.

The binder 6 is mounted on the inner surface of the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2 to file the leaves 16 and the pouch T inside the base plate 2 that has been folded. As shown in FIG. lb, the binder 6 is desirably mounted detachably on the inner surface of the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2. In other words, the

guide rails R are formed on the inner surface of the lateral part 14, and the binder 6 is provided with guide grooves L'and L"that correspond with the guide rails R, on the bottom surface, such that the binder 6 can be mounted on the base plate 2 by fitting the rails into grooves and dismounted therefrom by releasing the coupling relationship. On the other hand, it is possible that the guide rails R are formed on the bottom surface of the binder 6 and the guide grooves L'and L"are on the inner surface of the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2. The method for mounting the binder 6 is not limited to the sole embodiment described above.

The position on which the binder 6 is detachably mounted is not limited only to the inner surface of the lateral part 14 of the base plate 2, and may be set on any place determined by a user, for example, on the inner surface of the front part 10 of the base plate 2 and on the inner surface of the rear part 12 of the base plate 2. The base plate 2 can be provided with two or more binders 6 on the one surface thereof or also with one or more binders 6 on the inner surfaces of the front part 10, the rear part 12 and the lateral part 14 (see FIG. 2b).

The binder 6 can be replaced with loose rings N1, N2, N3, N4, N1'and N2'. As shown in FIGS. 2a to 2c, the loose rings are mounted detachably on the inner surfaces of the lateral part 14, the front part 10 and the rear part 12 of the base plate 2, and also mounted by the combination of the binder 6. Unlike the binder 6 that should use the leaves 16 or pouch having the fixed size, the position where the loose rings are mounted can be adjusted in accordance with the size of the leaves 16 or the pouch selected by the user. Therefore, the loose rings can be used irrespective of the size of the leaves or pouch.

As shown in FIG. 2a, so as to make the positions where the binder 6 or the loose rings are mounted and the angles of their positions varied, it is preferable

that a groove L'is additionally formed on the side face of the binder 6 or on the side faces of the loose rings.

On the other hand, the loop 8 is a band type that is detachably mounted on the inner surface of the rear part 12 of the base plate 2 by attaching the end portion thereof on the inner surface of the rear part 12 of the base plate 2, such that it holds a predetermined article 18 therein and thus fixes it therein.

As shown in FIGS. 2a to 2d, the positions of the cases or the number of cases are freely adjusted, and thereby, the positions where the binder 6, the loose rings, and the loops 8 and 8'are located and the number of them are determined.

The method for mounting detachably the binder 6, the loose rings, and the loops is carried out by means of various kinds of devices such as rail grooves or rail bars, male and female grooves, male and female attaching hooks, Velcro fastener, hinges, dots, etc.

FIGS. 3a to 3c show a pair of clamping bars 30 and 32, a switching clamp 34, and other connecting elements added to the front end portions of the outer peripheries of the long sides of the front part 10 and the rear part 12 of the base plate 2.
