Abstract:
A handheld wheel-type distance-measuring instrument, comprising a housing (1). A wheel seat (2) is disposed at a corner portion of the housing (1). A rotatable measuring wheel (3) is mounted on the wheel seat (2). Magnetic devices (31) of opposite polarities are alternately fixed on a circumferential side surface of the measuring wheel (3). At least one pair of Hall devices (4) matching the polarities of the magnetic devices (31) are mounted and fixed on the wheel seat (2). The Hall devices (4) detect changes in polarity caused by the magnetic devices (31) when the measuring wheel (3) rotates and output the changes in polarity to a control circuit, such that a measured distance is calculated. An angle measuring module is disposed inside the housing (1) to detect an angle between the housing (1) and a measured surface and to output the angle to the control circuit, such that a distance between a contact point of the measuring wheel (3) and an adjacent corner portion and parallel to the measured surface is calculated.
