Abstract:
Provided in embodiments of the present application are a handover control method and apparatus. The method comprises: a first network apparatus sending to a terminal a handover instruction, the handover instruction comprising at least one of the following: a first start time, a first duration, a second start time, and a second duration; and performing data transmission with the terminal during an idle period, the idle period comprising at least one of the following: a period from the end of the first duration to the second start time, and a period from the end of the second duration to the first start time. During a handover process of a UE unit to a target base station, the present invention reduces an interruption period for data transmission between a base station and the UE unit, and improving data transmission efficiency.
