Abstract:
The present invention provides a hard coat film having a substrate film and a hard coat layer, wherein the hard coat layer includes: a) at least one polymer from among a polymer of a compound having an epoxy group and a polymer of a compound having three or more ethylenically-unsaturated double bond groups; b) silica particles having an average primary particle diameter of 5–300 nm; and c) a fluoroaliphatic group–containing copolymer comprising a repeating unit represented by general formula (2) and a repeating unit represented by general formula (3), which are set forth in the description. In the b) silica particles, the ratio Z of SiOH in the silica particle surface, which is represented by formula (1) set forth in the description, is 0.55 or higher. The thickness of the hard coat layer is 2 μm to 12 μm inclusive. The density of the b) silica particles is at least 45 vol% in a 50-nm region from the surface of the hard coat layer on the opposite side to the substrate film. The present invention also provides a polarizing plate and an image display device.
