Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method, capable of surely exterminating harmful animals such as wild boars and deer in a safe manner. This apparatus comprises: an imaging device; a laser irradiator; a camera/laser-light coaxial device in which an aiming position of the imaging device and laser light from the laser irradiator are coaxially disposed; and a driving means for driving the camera/laser-light coaxial device. The imaging device, the laser irradiator, and the driving means are connected to a controller that includes: a determination means for determining eyes of a target animal on the basis of an image from the imaging device; an operation means for operating the driving means so as to position the eyes of the target animal at the aiming position; and an irradiation execution means for executing laser irradiation when the eyes of the target animal are positioned at the aiming position by the operation means.
