Abstract:
A harmonic generation device according to one embodiment of the present invention is additionally connected to an electric motor which is fed with AC from an electric power trunk line connected to a power supply transformer. During operation of the electric motor, on the basis of the proportion (Z1/P) between the total number of slots (Z1) for accommodating a coil in a stator and the number of pole pairs (P), the harmonic generation device generates, with respect to a harmonic voltage of a degree that serves as a braking force for a rotor among harmonic voltages generated due to harmonic rotating magnetic flux generated between the stator and the rotor, a harmonic voltage of the same degree as, and in the opposite phase to, the harmonic voltage that serves as the braking force. The harmonic generation device temporally changes and outputs a cancellation harmonic, of the electric motor, which has an amplitude and a frequency of a predetermined harmonic having a frequency corresponding to {(Z1/P)-1}.
