Abstract:
A hat rudder 3 for ships and a ship constructed with the hat rudder. The hat rudder comprises a rudder shaft 32 and a rudder body. The rudder body comprises a hat plate 31 fixed on the end portion of the rudder shaft. The hat plate is a space curved panel with a top surface 311, a bottom surface 312, a front end face 313, a rear end face 314, a left end face 315, and a right end face 316. The projected area of the hat plate on the cross section is smaller than the projected area on the waterline surface and also smaller than the projected area on the longitudinal section. The ship adopts a hat rudder.
