Title:
HAWK-EYE IDENTIFICATION METHOD AND SYSTEM IN TENNIS MATCH
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/008218
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A Hawk-Eye identification method and system in a tennis match. The method comprises: 101, periodically capturing images via a camera arranged at a corner of a court, where the angles between the camera and each side are all 45°; 102, positioning images of a tennis ball in the images, projecting the tennis ball onto the X axis, the Y axis, and the Z axis; 103, calculating the distance between the projection of the tennis ball on the X axis, the Y axis, and the Z axis and a calibration line; 104, acquiring the coordinates of the tennis ball on the three axes on the basis of the distance; and 105, repeating the above steps until the coordinates of the tennis ball in all of the images are acquired, and drawing the trajectory of the tennis ball on the basis of the coordinates of the tennis ball. The present identification method has the advantage of being inexpensive compared with a currently applied method in which multiple cameras are used to determine the trajectory of a tennis ball to determine whether or not same went out-of-bounds or clipped the line.
