Abstract:
A head lamp (1) for vehicle allowing a forward traffic obstacle to be clearly viewed at night by eliminating the nonuniform distribution of light in the range of radiation, wherein an HID lamp (14) is disposed at a specified position on the center axis O of a reflector (2) to provide a low beam position, the HID lamp (14) is slid backward along a center axis X crossing the center axis O at a specified crossing angle to lower the position of the HID lamp (14) less than the low beam position so as to provide a high beam position, light from the HID lamp at the low beam position is radiated only to the upper half side of the reflector (2) by a shade (12) and light from the HID lamp (14) at the low beam position is radiated also to the lower half side thereof through a light transmission hole formed in the shade (12) to distribute the light to the entire surface of the reflector (2).
