Abstract:
Provided are a head-mounted display and an image display device having a wider usable range of movement. The head-mounted display (HMD) is equipped with a first ball joint 2, a second ball joint 3, and an arm unit 9. The first ball joint 2 has a first rod 21A and a first sphere 21B. The second ball joint 3 has a second rod 31A and a second sphere 31B. The first rod 21A passes through a first hole 221D. The second rod 31A passes through a second hole 321D. At a first position of a display housing 11, which is the position of the display housing when the first rod 21A is positioned in the center of the first hole 221D and the second rod 31A is positioned in the center of the second hole 321D, the position P1 of a half-mirror 51 is farther from a mounting fixture 8 than the positon P2 of the half-mirror 51 when the display housing 11 is at a second position.
