Abstract:
A method of forming a high resolution liquid crystal display device characterised by: forming an active matrix array with a single crystal silicon material, the display including an array pixel circuits and an array of pixel electrodes, a plurality of column address lines connected to a column driver circuit (20A,20B) and a plurality of row address lines connected to a row driver circuit (18A,18B) such that the display has a pixel density of at least 400 lines per centimetre; positioning a layer of liquid crystal material (19) adjacent to the active matrix array; optically coupling a light source to the active matrix array such that the images can be formed; and optically coupling a lens (1620) to the liquid crystal material to magnify an image on the display.
