Abstract:
Disclosed is a head-mounted display capable of preventing injury to the user and damage to an image display part. The head-mounted display has a head-mounted part (1) which is mounted on the user's head and an image-forming part (2) that is attached to the forward side part of the head-mounted part (1) and that allows the user to view images. When the image-forming part (2) and the head-mounted part (1) are connected by means of a locking means and an obstruction approaches the image-forming part (2), a proximity sensor (4) detects said obstruction and an actuator releases the connection of the locking means, allowing the image-forming part (2) to drop away from the head-mounted part (1).
