Abstract:
This head mounted display is attached to a frame worn on the head of a user, and light of an image formed on the basis of image information is made incident to the user's eyes for the user to recognize the image. The head mounted display is provided with a generating unit that generates the image light, which forms a virtual image of the image, and a half mirror disposed within the user's field of vision. The half mirror is provided with a first surface that reflects part of the image light generated by the generating unit in the direction of the user's eyes and a second surface inclined at a prescribed angle to the first surface and for which the angle of incidence of pass-through light, which is the other part of the image light that passes through the first surface, is near a critical angle.
