Abstract:
Provided is a head-up display apparatus (100) having excellent visibility during viewing via polarization sunglasses, and having excellent heat resistance. The head-up display apparatus (100) according to the present invention comprises: a display device (10) which emits projection light; at least one reflection device (20) which reflects the projection light; a casing which has an opening portion (32) and in which the display device (10) and the reflection device (20) are accommodated; a cover member (40) which covers the opening portion (32); and a polarization plate (50) provided on the casing interior side of the cover member (40). The in-plane phase difference Re (550) of the cover member (40) is at least 3000 nm. The head-up display apparatus (100) according to the present invention is configured in such a way that the angle of reflection of the projection light emitted from the casing (30) through the opening portion (32) is at most 30°, or is at least 40° with respect to a windshield.
