Abstract:
The head-up display is provided with a measuring means, a light source unit, and a control means. The measuring means measures the distance from an obstacle present in the direction of travel of one's vehicle. The light source unit has a fastening part that can be fastened to one's vehicle and guides light to the observer via a projection area by emitting light that configures a display image onto the projection area. When one's vehicle has moved a specified time or a specified distance in the direction of travel, the control means limits the display of at least a portion of the information when the distance, to the right or left of the direction of travel, between the obstacle and one's vehicle falls below a prescribed standard distance.
