Abstract:
A head-up display is mounted in a mobile object such as a vehicle, generates a virtual image, for example, in front of a windshield, and displays an image by superimposing the virtual image on a landscape ahead of the mobile object. On a display means, a guidance image that indicates a route to be taken in order to arrive at a destination is displayed. An information acquisition means acquires network information that is information irrelevant to route guidance and including character information. The network information includes information such as e-mail, a call, and news. A display control means causes the character information to be displayed when the mobile object is stopped, and causes the character information not to be displayed when the mobile object is being moved. Consequently, a driver can be prevented from being distracted by the character information displayed while driving.
