Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a head-up display device having excellent heat resistance as well as excellent visibility when viewed through polarized sunglasses. This head-up display device (100) has: a display (10) for emitting projection light; at least one reflector (20) for reflecting the projection light; a housing (30) for accommodating the display (10) and the reflector (20) in the inside thereof, the housing (30) having an opening (32); a cover member (40) for covering the opening (32); and a polarizing plate (50) provided with a phase difference layer, including, in order from the cover member side thereof, a phase difference layer and a polarizer, the polarizing plate (50) being provided on the housing-internal side of the cover member (40). The in-plane phase difference Re(550) of the phase difference layer is 100 nm to 200 nm or 220 nm to 320 nm, and this head-up display device (100) is configured so that the reflection angle, with respect to a windshield, of the projection light emitted from the housing (30) through the opening (32) is no more than 30° or no less than 40°.
