Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a head-up display device which is capable of achieving satisfactory display luminance and satisfactory concealability for the inside at the same time. A head-up display device (100) according to the present invention comprises: a display (10) which comprises a display cell (11) and a polarizing plate (12) with a first retardation layer, and which emits projection light, said polarizing plate (12) being on the emission side of the display cell (11) and sequentially containing a polarizer and a first retardation layer from the display cell side; at least one reflector (20) which reflects the projection light; a case (30) which has an opening (32) and internally contains the display (10) and the reflector (20); a cover member (40) which covers the opening (32); and a polarizing plate (50) with a second retardation layer, which is provided on the case interior side of the cover member (40) and sequentially contains a polarizer and a second retardation layer from the cover member side. The in-plane retardations Re(550) of the first retardation layer and the second retardation layer are from 100 nm to 200 nm, respectively.
