Abstract:
Provided is a head-up display system for displaying a virtual image in a superimposed manner on a real view visible through a window, said system comprising a display unit which emits a light beam that is to be visually recognized as a virtual image by an observer, an optical system which guides the light beam to a window; a light source unit which emits light; an operation unit which is for adjusting the vertical position of the virtual image; and a control unit which controls a display region of the display unit in accordance with an operation by the observer on the operation unit. The light beam emitted from the display unit is reflected by the window and reaches a visual recognition region at which the virtual image is visually recognizable by the observer. The light emitted from the light source unit is reflected in a region in which the light beam is reflected by the window, and reaches the visual recognition region. The virtual image and the light from the light source unit are superimposed so as to be visually recognizable.
