Abstract:
The present invention prevents virtual images from appearing as double images when individual displayed images are reflected on the surface or the back face of a combiner and are being observed, while enabling clear observation of the displayed images at a magnification of 1× or more. The combiner's (13A) surface (P) receives and reflects toward a driver a display light radiated from a display device (12), and forms an arcuate first optical surface which enables the display light's first virtual image to be observed by the driver outside the windshield (14) at a magnification setting exceeding 1×. The combiner's back face (Q) receives and reflects toward the driver the display light radiated from the display device (12), and forms an arcuate second optical surface which enables the display light's second virtual image, which matches the first virtual image in both size and position, to be observed by the driver outside the windshield (14).
