Abstract:
The present invention provides a head-up display the volume of which can be reduced as much as possible. The present invention is a head-up display that is provided with an image light output device (200) for outputting image light, a first optical element (301), a second optical element (303), and a third optical element (302) and projects image light passing through the first optical element (301) onto a combiner (102). The first optical element (301) is provided at an inclination to the output surface of the image light output device (200), reflects image light having a first polarization orientation, and allows image light having a second polarization orientation different from the first polarization orientation to pass through. The second optical element (303) reflects image light from the first optical element (301) to the first optical element (301). The third optical element (302) is disposed between the first optical element (301) and the second optical element (303) and converts image light having the first polarization orientation to image light having the second polarization orientation by the image light passing through back and forth.
