Abstract:
A head-up display comprising: a video display device; a virtual image optical system; a housing for accommodating the video display device and the virtual image optical system; a housing opening; an anti-glare panel that covers the housing opening and transmits video light; a camera for capturing the vehicle driver's face region including the eyes; a gaze detector for detecting the gaze of the driver on the basis of an image captured by the camera; and a main controller. The camera is located on the outside of the housing and disposed at a position that is offset from the optical path of outgoing video light from the housing opening while being oriented such that the camera can capture the region of the anti-glare panel that reflects the face of the driver including the eyes. The main controller causes the virtual image optical system to adjust the video light emission direction on the basis of the driver's gaze position detected by the gaze detector.
