Provided is a headlight device for a straddle-type vehicle, which facilitates work of attaching a cover member to the surface of an outer lens. In a headlight device (30) for a straddle-type vehicle, which includes an outer lens (31) and a cover member (6) to be mounted to the surface of the outer lens (31), a first recess (33) having a shape conforming to the contour of the cover member (6) and a second recess (34) obtained by further recessing the bottom surface of the first recess (33) are formed in the surface of the outer lens (31). An adhesive member (6f) is mounted to the rear surface side of the cover member (6). A first protrusion (6e) to be engaged with the second recess (34) is formed on the rear surface side of the cover member (6). The cover members (6), the first recesses (33), and the second recesses (34) are provided as pairs on the left and right in a vehicle width direction. The cover member (6) has a shape elongated in the vehicle width direction. The first protrusion (6e) is formed at a position on the outer lens (31) closer to the center of a vehicle body.
