Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to favorably maintain the durability of a headlight device by reducing the influence of sunlight, even in an environment exposed to sunlight. Disclosed is a headlight device (10) that emits illumination light onto a road surface on which a vehicle travels, the headlight device comprising a visible-light illumination unit (15) and a projector lens (18). The visible-light illumination unit (15) generates illumination light. The projector lens (18) is provided on the optical axis of the visible-light illumination unit (15), and distributes and projects the illumination light emitted from the visible-light illumination unit (15). The visible-light illumination unit (15) includes an LED (111), a liquid crystal panel (30), and a shutter (81). The LED (111) emits light. The liquid crystal panel (30) controls the distribution of the illumination light emitted from the LED (111). The shutter (81) is provided between the liquid crystal panel (30) and the projector lens (18), and shields the liquid crystal panel (30) from sunlight that is incident through the projector lens (18).
