Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a means for detecting heart failure more easily and with higher accuracy. [Solution] A heart failure detection method using a sample collected from an organism, wherein heart failure is detected by conducting sandwich immunoassay of NT-proANP contained in the sample using a first antibody for capturing, for which the epitope is any site from among positions 31–67 of the amino acid sequence of the NT-proANP, and a second antibody for labeling, for which the epitope is any site from among positions 31–67 of the amino acid sequence of the NT-proANP. Since both of the epitopes for the two types of antibodies for capturing and labeling are among positions 31–67 of the amino acid sequence of the NT-proANP, even in cases in which the NT-proANP is further divided into three fragments in the blood stream, it is possible to detect the same amount of material as the NT-proANP, and thus it is possible to detect heart failure easily and with high accuracy.
