Abstract:
A hearth covering agent for a carbonization chamber of a coke oven, which comprises a refractory material having an average particle diameter of 10 μm or less and a melting point higher than the temperature of the wall surface of the carbonization chamber during operation and an organic binder, and has an average particle diameter of 0.3 to 10 mm; a method for producing the hearth covering agent; and a method for applying the hearth covering agent on a hearth of a coke oven. The use of the hearth covering agent allows the reduction of a high load on a machine for pushing a coke product out of the carbonization chamber, which has conventionally imposed thereon.
