Title:
HEAT AND ENERGY RECOVERY VENTILATORS AND METHODS OF USE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2005103576
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
An energy recovery ventilator (10) and method for monitoring and maintaining an environmental condition inside a structure (100) such as a house, building, or dwelling is provided. The ventilator (10) may include a housing (20) having mating halves (20a and 20b) of a molded polymeric material, first and second chambers (22a and 22b) disposed within the housing (20) to convey separate first and second streams of air, a heat exchanger (30) configured to intersect the first and second chambers (22a and 22b), a first fan (54a) to circulate the first air stream through the first chamber (22a), a second fan (54b) to circulate the second air stream through the second chamber (54b), and a fan motor (52) driving the first and second fans. The ventilator (10) may also be configured to prevent frost build-up in or on the energy ventilator, to provide efficient cooling, and maintain one or more desired environmental conditions.
