Abstract:
This heat exchanger (1) has a plurality of fins (4), a side plate (3), and an aluminum pipe (2) extending through the fins and the side plate. The pipe is expanded by a pipe expander and integrated with the fins and the side plate. The pipe has: a first portion (21) formed to have a first outer diameter (d1); a second portion (23) formed to have a second outer diameter (d2) greater than the first outer diameter; and a tapered section (22) for connecting the first portion and the second portion. The outer peripheral surface of the first portion is pressure bonded to the inner peripheral surfaces of fin holes (42). The outer peripheral surface of the second portion is pressure bonded to the inner peripheral surface of an opening (30). The tapered section-side end of the second portion is located inside an opening end (31). The tapered section-side end of the second portion is located outside a fin hole adjacent to the side plate. As a result, failures caused by pipe expansion can be suppressed.
