Abstract:

Disclosed is a heat exchanger (10) wherein each of the header tanks (20A, 20B) is configured such that each of the intermediate plates (60, 90) is sandwiched between a header plate (40) and a tank plate (50). The intermediate plates (60, 90) function as reinforcing members, and improve the strength of the header tanks (20A, 20B). In each of the intermediate plates (60, 90) as the reinforcing elements, bent sections (100) are formed, said bent sections being positioned between the center of each of the header tanks (20A, 20B) in the width direction of each header tank and both the end portions of each header tank. As a result of having the bent sections (100) elastically deformed, a stress generated at the time of soldering the header tanks (20A, 20B) and a stress generated when cooling medium pressure is operated, for instance, are prevented from being concentrated to the bonding portions where the header plate (40), the tank plate (50), and the intermediate plates (60, 90) are bonded to each other.
