Abstract:
A heat generator, in which out of gaps between a wall surface of a heat generating chamber (32) and an outer surface of a rotor (37), a liquid-tight gap with a spacing capable of ensuring heat generation effectively usable upon rotation of the rotor (37) is formed to be cylindrical-shaped or tapered concentrically with an axis of a drive shaft (36), and the rotor (37) is provided to be movable in an axial direction so as to cause enlargement of the spacing of the liquid-tight gap or reduction in a region having the liquid-tight gap. Ensuring of a large calorific value is made positively compatible with durability.
