Title:
HEAT-INSULATING ELEMENT AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/020617
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a thermal heat-insulating element, which comprises at least two abutting layers, wherein each layer is formed from a plurality of connected strands, which run parallel to one another and are arranged in one plane. Each strand is formed from a plurality of connected, hollow and evacuated, elongated cells, each cell in the same strand adjoins no more than two further cells, all of which are sealed with respect to one another by constrictions, and the cells of a layer are arranged offset in the strand direction with respect to the respectively adjoining cells of an adjoining layer. The invention additionally relates to a method for producing a heat-insulating element, comprising melting material, pressing the molten material through an opening into an evacuated chamber in the form of a hollow strand, constricting the strand at approximately equal intervals, and stretching the strand, so that the wall thickness of the strand is reduced.
