Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a heat pipe that has an excellent heat transport property, and that is able to suppress freezing of a working fluid even when the longitudinal direction of a container is arranged substantially parallel to the direction of gravitational force in a cold weather region, thereby preventing deformation of a container even when the container has a thin shape. This heat pipe comprises a tubular container both ends of which are sealed, a wick structure accommodated within the container, and a working fluid sealed inside the container. In at least one cross section among cross sections perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the container the wick structure contacts the inner surfaces of the container at two locations, the side surfaces of the wick structure do not contact any of the inner surfaces of the container, and a meatal sintered body layer is formed on the inner surfaces of the container not contacted by the wick structure.
