Title:
HEAT PUMP CYCLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/002369
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A heat pump cycle is provided in which refrigerant that flows through an outdoor heat exchanger (25) flows into said heat exchanger from below, makes a U-turn (one reciprocating movement) and flows out from the top of the heat exchanger. When refrigerant is made to enter from a bottom section and flow out from a top section, inertial force causes the refrigerant to attempt to make a detour within a header tank (42) that is one of two header tanks when the refrigerant turns within the header tank (42). However, when the refrigerant moves upward within the header tank (42), detours are prevented because the weight of the liquid refrigerant causes downward-oriented force to act thereon. As a result, it is possible to prevent uneven flow distribution of internally-flowing refrigerant and to increase the amount of heat absorbed from air, even with regards to the outdoor heat exchanger (25) that switches between operation as an evaporator and a condenser.
