Abstract:
Disclosed is a heat pump device wherein the heat radiation loss as well as the compressor input are reduced during a defrosting operation, so that the efficiency of the defrosting operation is enhanced. The heat pump device is comprised of a main refrigerant circuit wherein a compressor (1), a first heat exchanger (3), an expansion mechanism (4), and a second heat exchanger (5) are connected in this order; and a bypass circuit (7) provided with an open/close valve (6), which bypasses the expansion mechanism (4). The main refrigerant circuit is provided with a four-way valve (2) which switches the circulation pathways of the refrigerant in the main refrigerant circuit, to change the operation between a heating operation and a defrosting operation. Further, the main refrigerant circuit is provided with a first temperature detection portion (10) and a second temperature detection portion (11), and the extent of overheating of the first heat exchanger (3) during a defrosting operation is calculated on the basis of the values detected by these detection portions. In the heat pump device, when the operation is switched from a heating operation to a defrosting operation, the open/close valve (6) is opened so that the circulation volume of the refrigerant circulating in the refrigerant circuit is increased, and the operation frequency of the compressor (1) is controlled so that the extent of overheating reaches a predetermined target value.
