Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a heat pump that is able to use as a refrigerant a substance in which geometric isomer exists, and to provide a method for designing this heat pump. In this method for designing a heat pump (1), in which a refrigerant, which includes a refrigerant substance in which a geometric isomer may exist, is sealed in a closed circuit wherein a compressor (2), a condenser (3), an expansion valve (4), and an evaporator (5) are sequentially connected, an upper limit stable temperature up to which isomerization does not proceed is determined, and an upper limit usage temperature for the heat pump (1) is set so as not to exceed the upper limit stable temperature.
