Abstract:
A heat radiation device for a thin electronic appliance comprising a base shaped into a rectangular flat-sheet shape, an intermediate plate shaped into a rectangular shape and laminated on the base, a cover shaped into a rectangular box shape and laminated on the intermediate plate and a fan. A recess portion is formed at the center of the base. A plurality of fins provided form an exhaust port for cooling air. An arcuate communication portion connects the recess portions with the exhaust port. The fan is fitted into an opening of the intermediate plate disposed at the position opposing the recess portion, and the intermediate plate and the base are connected so that heat can be conducted between them. As the end face of each side plate disposed on the major side of the cover is brought into contact with the intermediate plate and the base, suction ports for cooling air are formed on the minor sides of the cover. The operation of the fan causes cooling air to flow from the suction port to the exhaust port and emits heat stored in the base to the outside.
